The making of Herbal Salve
Rub herbs between your palms to bruise them. If your herbs include any combination of roots, leaves and flowers, separate those parts into different piles. You may put different types of herbs together in the same pile; you are only separating the parts of the plant.
2
Pour the olive, sesame or coconut oil and the bruised herbs into the frying pan, starting with the roots, adding the leaves next and then the flowers. Cover the pan and heat the herbs over a low heat until all parts of the plant are crispy (about 30 minutes to 1 hour). Keep the heat low enough, cooking the herbs or bringing the oil to a simmer.
Things You'll Need
2 ounces dried herbs
1 cup olive, sesame or coconut oil (plus a little extra)
Frying pan with a cover
Saucepan
1/2 ounce solid beeswax beads or shavings (plus a little extra)
1/2 teaspoon vitamin E oil
Metal teaspoon
Retinol Wrinkle Cream
As Potent As Retinol. Powerful Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate
www.Kiehls.com
3
Melt the beeswax in the saucepan over a low heat.
4
Pour melted beeswax into the frying pan with the herbs and oil.
5
Stir in the vitamin E oil.
6
Remove a teaspoon of the mixture and blow on it until it hardens. Test the cooled salve with your finger by dabbing a bit from the teaspoon onto your skin and rubbing it in. If the salve is too hard to rub in, add another teaspoon of olive, sesame or coconut oil. If the salve is too runny, add another pinch of beeswax. Repeat the testing process until the salve rubs smoothly and completely into the skin.
7
Pour the salve into the glass jar immediately after you get it to the desired consistency, as it will quickly start to harden as it continues to cool to room temperature. If the salve hardens too much to pour, reheat it until it returns to a liquid. Seal the lid on the jar tightly.

Marshmellow root Herb
Therapeutic Uses, Benefits and Claims of Marshmallow Root
Marshmallow root has a long history dating back thousands of years as an herbal remedy for cough, sore throat and other respiratory problems such as bronchitis and whooping cough (pertussis). This is due to the large amounts of mucilage found in the flower as well as the root.
The Herb Marshmallow Root
(Althea officinalis)
Recommended uses include that of diarrhea and indigestion; along with chronic diseases that cause these such as Crohn’s disease, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and Gastroesophageal reflux disease.
Weight loss has been promoted when taking marshmallow because it swells when mixed with fluid, prompting the stomach to have a feeling of more fullness.
This herb has shown to be helpful in almost all problems related to inflammation of the digestive tract; including peptic ulcers, hiatus hernias, mouth ulcers, enteritis and colitis.
External uses have shown to be very effective as well. Laboratory tests from the 1960’s concluded that marshmallow root has anti-inflammatory activity on the human tissue indicating that this herb could be helpful in treating cuts, scrapes, and other wounds, as well as a remedy for eczema, psoriasis and pinkeye.
Marshmallow roots form an imperative ingredient of ointments and creams that are effective in cuing boils and other bodily abscesses.
Roots may be formed into a mouthwash and used to treat inflammation. It is in this form that the roots can be extremely helpful in aiding the irritation of teething infants. The root may also be peeled fresh and given to infants to chew on.
Potential Side Effects of Marshmallow Root
Althea has little to no known levels of toxicity and is commonly considered to be completely safe. Marshmallow liquid preparations may include the use of sugar and/or alcohol. Exercise caution when using if you have diabetes, alcohol dependence or liver disease. Use is not recommended for pregnant or lactating women. There are current studies being conducted on the use of Marshmallow root in increasing the production of milk in lactating women but the results are not official and are still being studied.
There is a possibility that marshmallow may interfere with the absorption of other drugs and therefore should be taken at least one to two hours after ingestion of any other drug. Caution should be taken when using with any dietary supplement. These supplements cause a decrease in blood sugar levels just as the althea has been known to do.
Dosage and Administration
The best way to take marshmallow root is by supplements. Herbal tablets of about 5 mg can be taken once per day or a liquid alternative of 5-15 ml 3 times daily. As a cough and respiratory agent 2 grams of the root should be put into one cup of cold water, soaked for two hours and then gargled. For topical use shredded root should be mixed with enough warm water to form a thick paste and spread onto a clean cloth. Apply to irritated area as needed.

Alternative Healing
REIKI
The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy."
A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. Many have reported miraculous results.
QIGONG
Qigong is a wonderful form of martial arts that uses subtle movements to bridge the mind and body and promote self-enlightenment. Practitioners often feel a higher sense of purpose and awareness as their bodies receive a concentrated influx of life-giving chi (energy and breath).
TOUCH FOR HEALTH
Touch for Health is a system of balancing posture, attitude and life energy to relieve stress, aches and pains, feel and function better, be more effective, clarify and achieve your goals and enjoy your life!
BOWEN
The Bowen Technique, a healing, often miraculous, life-changing hands-on therapy, is revolutionizing the healthcare world!
A simple and powerful technique that helps relieve all kinds of pain, it is so gentle that it can be used on anyone, from newborn infants to the elderly.
The Bowen Technique is not massage, acupressure or chiropractic. There is no manipulation, adjustment or force used. The practitioner uses thumbs and fingers to gently move muscles and tissues. In between each set of moves, the practitioner leaves the room.
ACUPUNCTURE
Acupuncture involves the insertion of extremely thin needles through your skin at strategic points on your body. A key component of Traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture is most commonly used to treat pain.
Traditional Chinese medicine explains acupuncture as a technique for balancing the flow of energy or life force — known as qi or chi (CHEE) — believed to flow through pathways (meridians) in your body. By inserting needles into specific points along these meridians, acupuncture practitioners believe that your energy flow will re-balance.
In contrast, many Western practitioners view the acupuncture points as places to stimulate nerves, muscles and connective tissue. This stimulation appears to boost the activity of your body's natural painkillers and increase blood flow.
These are just a few..many more modalities out there!

Syncronicity
Synchronicity is an explanatory principle, according to its creator, Carl Jung. Synchronicity explains "meaningful coincidences," such as a beetle flying into his room while a patient was describing a dream about a scarab. The scarab is an Egyptian symbol of rebirth, he noted. Therefore, the propitious moment of the flying beetle indicated that the transcendental meaning of both the scarab in the dream and the insect in the room was that the patient needed to be liberated from her excessive rationalism. His notion of synchronicity is that there is an acausal principle that links events having a similar meaning by their coincidence in time rather than sequentially. He claimed that there is a synchrony between the mind and the phenomenal world of perception.
Anyone have any good syncronicity stories for me?

Blessings: As you continue the journey of rediscovering your Divine nature, we surround you with our love and blessings.
Your success will come from facing your challenges when they arise and discovering new paradigm solutions. Crow Animal Totem
Many cultures consider crows to be the keepers of the Sacred Law, for nothing escapes their keen sight. To have a Crow as a power animal is extremely powerful stuff. When we meditate on the crow and align with it, we are instilled with the wisdom to know ourselves beyond the limitations of one-dimensional thinking and laws. We are taught to appreciate the many dimensions of both reality and ourselves, and to learn to trust our intuition and personal integrity.
Crows often appear in groups, and though there seems to be no variation in their caw-ing to each other, each caw actually has a different meaning. Their complex vocabulary is one sign of their intelligence, and is also a sign of their significance as power animals. When a crow explores something new, others watch closely to see what happens and then learn from it. They often make great noise when hunters are around, warning deer and other birds. Crows recognise potential danger and hence always post lookouts when feeding. This is their most vulnerable time. This helps us understand that we must watch what we believe, to test our habitual ideas about reality against a more universal standard.
Without paying careful attention, we are unable to understand the language of crows, this signifies the fact that we can't always see beyond our own cultural limitations. These limitations include certain moral codes of right and wrong, along with 'rules' that accompany these codes.
Throughout history there have been many (unnecessary) conflicts and wars between humans due to differing moral and religious beliefs. To truly create a new age of love, peace and harmony it is of high importance for us to be able to transcend our particular cultural limitations and to hold in our hearts and souls what we share as spiritual beings in human form. We are all connected, infinitely and composed of the same 'stuff'. We need to realise that hurting others only hurts ourselves. Crow is the bird which represents this transcendence.
Crow can also teach us to be mindful about judging people automatically. Be mindful of your opinions and actions. You need to walk your talk, to speak your truth and to know your life's mission. Again, trust your intuition and personal integrity, to create your own standards, whether or not they match those of the world around you. Be an individual, think for yourself, don't necessarily follow the crowd!
In the courting process the male crow's voice takes on a singing quality. This lets us see what the basis of sacred law is, unconditional love, the one unfailing principle by which we can test our own principles.
Crow is an omen of change. Crows live in the void and have no sense of time, therefore being able to see past, present and future simultaneously. They unite both the light and the dark, both the inner and the outer. Crow is the totem of the Great Spirit and must be held with utmost respected. They are representations of creation and spiritual strength.
Crows are messengers, telling us about the creation and magic all around us, that is available to us just for the asking. Look for opportunities to bring into being the magic of life. The striking black colour of the crow represents the colour of creation. It is the womb out of which the new comes into existence. Black is the colour of the night, giving birth to the light of a new day.
Crows are sly and can be deceptive in their actions. They have been known to build false nests high in treetops to confuse predators. Their nests are built very high up, giving them the chance to watch everything that is going on around them.
As crows are adaptable to all environments and will eat almost anything, they can survive in almost any situation. Crow is surrounded by magic, unseen forces and spiritual strength. If crow enters your life, get out of your familiar nest, look beyond your present range of vision, listen to the message(s) in its caw and act accordingly.

Spirit Guides
Do animals come to people in physical or symbolic form as guides and teachers? God or Spirit is constantly in touch with us, whether through more etheric beings such as angels and ancestors or through various earth elements. Animals are specific and concrete symbols, which sometimes make it easier for people to relate to.
When an animal shows up repetitively, whether it's the physical animal or a symbol, Spirit is trying to communicate something to you through that animal. For instance, you're sitting outside, one evening, and an owl flies over your head; it's not a random event, it has significance. This may mean that you need to examine hidden aspects of yourself that may be problematic, or indicate that it's important to pay attention to deceitful behaviour by someone in your life.
Since some animals are less commonly seen, they show up to us symbolically, as in dreams, pictures, or when others talk about them. Understand that when this occurs, it is not the animal that is communicating or just the spirit of that animal. The collective consciousness of that species is communicating through this representative, offering spiritual guidance to you.
Do you think we fail to see the wisdom of animal spirit guides? There is a reverence for these animals; however, the concept of them being spirit guides is apparently missing. The idea that an animal can serve as a spirit guide has its roots in indigenous shamanic cultures.
These ancient cultures and indigenous people today are more closely attuned to the earth and view it as alive and capable of providing omens and signs to assist the people in how to live their lives. Animals are considered to be related through a common spiritual force, and therefore able to communicate and offer guidance to human beings. So it is more than reverence. Animals are perceived as both physical beings and spiritual beings, and can offer messages and signs that help people navigate through life more easily.
How do children benefit from animal spirit guides? Children love animals. When encouraged by parents and others, a child can begin to understand that there is more to the animal. Over time, the child can appreciate the life force that animates the animal. They can also learn to call on their animal spirit guides for help with problems or challenges. by Steven Farmer

Buffalo Amnimal Totem
BUFFALO
The great bison or buffalo of North America is a very powerful symbol to American Indians. Though best suited to cooler climates, buffalos roamed virtually in entire continent. The smaller woodlands buffalo and its bigger cousin, the plains buffalo were revered and honored in ceremony and every day life. To the plains Indian, our Buffalo Brother meant sacred life and the abundance of the Creator's blessing on Mother Earth.
BUFFALO MEDICINE
The buffalo is powerful medicine that is a symbol of sacrifice and service to the community. The buffalo people agreed to give their lives so the American Indian could have food, shelter and clothing.
The buffalo is also a symbol of gratitude and honor as it is happy to accept its meager existence as it stands proud against the winds of adversity.
The buffalo represents abundance of the Creator's bounty and respect for all creation knowing that all things are sacred.
The buffalo represents a manifestation of the divine aspects of our being.
Because of its size, speed and sharp horns, buffalos can be dangerous when threatened. People who hear the message of the buffalo spirit are reminded to temper their power in dealing with others and allow the tranquility and peace of the Buffalo Brother to enter their lives.
Those with this totem need to remember to see the good in all things and not let their frustration store up inside them.
Unlike the European domesticated cow that places its rump toward approaching cold and faces away, the buffalo turns its head to face and stand firmly against raging storm. This quality reminds us to have courage and face problems head-on.
Buffalos unite against danger as buffalo cows defend their young, old and sick by forming a protective circle around them and the bulls form a circle around the cows. If you see the buffalo circle in dream or vision, it may mean someone around you requires your strength to defend and honor them. Or, it is a call to unite with others to bring about positive change.
The huge head of the Buffalo Brother signifies higher mental abilities that is grounded to Mother Earth by their tough bodies.
The buffalo teaches us how to eliminate our burdens by directing our energy in a balanced way.

Deer Animal Totem
The deer totem gives us the message or medicine of "gentleness". From Deer we learn to touch the hearts and minds of wounded souls with gentleness and kindness. We learn to not try to force people into changing but to love them just as they are.
We learn not to fight our internal demons with negative ideas but to love ourselves enough to face our fears and let them go. By learning to have love and compassion for our fellow human beings and ourselves the demons all just seem to melt away. We learn that fear can never live in the same place where there is gentleness and love.

Fox Animal Totem
The Cherokees, Hopi and various other Native American Indian tribes believed in its healing power, the Apache credited the fox with giving man fire.
Fox is amongst the most uniquely skilled and ingenious animals of nature. Being a night creature, fox is often imbued with supernatural powers. Foxes are usually seen at dawn and dusk. Dusk starts off their day, and the dawn is its ending. This is the time, when the world of magic and our every day realities cross paths. Foxes live on the edges of forests and open lands, the border areas. As fox is an animal of the between times and places, it can be a guide into the faerie realm. Fox has a long past of magic and cunning associated with it. It can move in and out of circumstance restoring order or causing confusion, depending on the occasion.
There are various species of fox, but they all share the extreme cleverness and cunning that paved the way for the expression, "sly as a fox." Fox urges us to develop the art of camouflage, invisibility, and shape shifting. They are agile, skilled, and unpredictable.
Fox's power lies in not being able to outrun the hounds, but to know in advance when they will be out hunting. They then use their ability to camouflage. When we learn to detach from our surroundings and to use all our senses to be observant, we will also be able to anticipate and create the future. A fox being followed by hounds will run across the tops of walls, cross streams diagonally, double back on its trail, run in circles - in short, do anything to break the trail of its scent. Fox has the amazing ability to outwit both predators and prey. Fox shows us how to slip out of unpleasant situations quietly and unnoticed. Those with fox as a spirit guide are frequently smart and witty but must remember to keep their crafty and clever demeanour balanced or it could backfire. Fox can also show you that your actions may be too obvious and the need to learn to be more discreet. Fox is a wise, potent, teacher for those who choose to live conscious and deliberate lives.
Due to their ability to blend into their surroundings, foxes are generally viewed as sly and cunning beings. Calling someone foxy is not always paying them a compliment, it can also mean that they are tricksters or liars.
Fox can show us the skills necessary when it comes to handling people. The ability to camouflage can be deduced as being able to take a step back and view an interpersonal situation with detachment. This includes opening up the less obvious senses, such as intuition.
Often the underlying basis of a situation may seem obvious, but instead of making a quick judgment, listen closely to the outer and inner senses. Then you may perhaps get a completely different picture of what is going on. When the outer situation and the inner senses don't match it is wise to handle like a Fox, to trust ones intuition/instinct/inner voice, and to lay low.
Just like the wolf, the fox partner's for life, and is very devoted to its young. Many of its clever hunting techniques are keyed to acquire food for the helpless young and the nursing vixen. This is am important element of the foxes power. Similarly, our own awareness, and flexibility can be used to greater ends, not just to serve ourselves.
Fox's Wisdom Includes: Shape shifting, cleverness, observational skills, cunning, stealth, camouflage, feminine, courage, invisibility, ability to observe unseen, persistence, gentleness, swiftness, wisdom, reliable friend, magic, shape shifting, invisibility.
Fox can teach us to control our auras so we are more able to live in harmony with the world and others.
If fox is your power animal, learning to be invisible is very important in your life. Picture yourself blending in with your surroundings, becoming part of everything. Be extremely still and quiet. With practice and patience you will be able to go unnoticed even at a party or in a crowd. Fox also teaches good eating habits, as they eat small portions frequently.
If fox is your power animal, pay attention to the way it moves and follow its lead. This is a powerful guide to have and those that have it to should learn to use its skills for the benefit of all, including themselves.

Butterfly Animal Totem
The Butterfly is a symbol of change, joy and love, metamorphosis.
Butterfly is a powerful symbol in myth and religion. For Early Christians, it represented the soul itself. In China it symbolized conjugal bliss and joy. American Indians call upon the butterfly for guidance in change, color, and happiness.
The "dance of the butterfly" can teach you not to take things so seriously. The butterfly has taste sensors on the front legs, enabling them to experience life through motion (dancing, walking).
Butterfly brings color and lightness to your life. Color is an important part of our daily life and can affect how we respond to various situations.
If you are going through changes or transitions in your life right now, study the butterfly to make these changes beneficial, joyful, and rewarding. All change is good - even if it may not seem so at the time. Change is what life is made of and is necessary to growth, and accomplishment.

Horse Animal Totem
Shamans throughout the world recognize the wisdom within the horse, a wisdom that is associated with such things as astral travel, intuition and freedom. As with other animal totems some people will have the horse as their totem throughout their life, or it may appear on occasion in order to bring a lesson or message. If horse wisdom is appearing in your life, whether during meditation, dreams or appearing symbolically during your day, it is wise to listen to the messages and teachings that it brings. The messages that the horse brings can vary so you'll need to ask yourself some questions to better understand their meanings and lessons you need to take from them.
For example, because horses are herd animals and depend upon the cooperation of the group for survival, the lesson coming your way may be one of working together with others or learning from the group. Horse medicine is also associated with courage and independence, so the lesson may be one of taking risks or finding your own personal power. Other lessons and powers associated with the horse totem include:
Friendship
Adventure
Stamina
Psychic abilities
Warning of possible danger
The importance of self-care
Finding your place in the world
Spiritual freedom
Joy
Perseverance
Creativity and expression
People who have the horse as their personal totem tend to be fiercely independent individuals who greatly cherish the ability to freely express themselves. They can also be intuitive and compassionate people who can be good teachers, leaders or healers. Because of the strong independent streak in the horse, people with this totem may find themselves resenting authority figures or resisting rules so for this reason it's important to maintain balance and remember the importance of cooperation. On the other hand, if a horse totem person becomes overly cooperative and giving, they may find themselves feeling emotionally, physically or spiritually drained. If this is the case it's important to remember the importance of self-nurturing and personal empowerment.
As you can see, the horse is a complex and powerful totem. By keeping yourself connected and in tune with the energy and gifts that it brings, you may find that your spirit will gain much wisdom and strength.

Owl Animal Totem
Owl Totem
Owls have been revered in many cultures as symbols of wisdom, knowledge, and unique vision. Unfortunately, they have also been feared and misunderstood by many other cultures who see them as omens of death and destruction. Due to their eerie nighttime call, they have been associated with banshees and goblins etc. Owls tend to be nocturnal, their large eyes and ability to almost fully rotate their heads give them keen night vision which makes them particularly fierce predators.
Great Horned Owls (the most common in the Americas) are easily recognized by the large tufts of feathers that look like "ears", but are not. Despite their large size, they fly silently and attack with stealth. Owls are associated with mediums, psychics, clairaudience, clairvoyance, and vision quests/journeying. Owl people are usually very psychic and in tune with or able to communicate with different dimensions and experience alternate realities. They don't fear death and darkness and tend to embrace it as part of the continual cycle of life.
Personal Reflection...
When owl comes to visit you it is because you are being challenged to open your "inner eyes and ears" and expand your perceptions of "reality". Owl people are often inclined towards metaphysical careers, philosophy, and new thought. Owls are usually heard calling at dusk and at dawn. People with owl totem also embody this twilight aspect, with the unique ability to pick up on realities that others often don't perceive themselves. Owl people are considered to be "walkers between worlds".

Bear Animal Totem
The Bear Totem
The Bear has many myths and legends surrounding it. They have played an enormous role in the Native American Indian culture and their skins were often used for protection from the cold in the form of coats and blankets; their claws were used for making jewelry and necklaces and their heads provided masks for Shaman. Native Americans believe that the Bear has strong medicine magic and many tribes consider bears to be Shaman themselves. They are known to American Indian tribes and their Shamans as “Keeper of Medicine” because they keep all the ancient healing secrets of the Indians and the spirits of the Earth.
The large powerful paws of a Bear contain, hidden within, long, sharp claws. They use their claws for catching one of their favorite meals, fish, and for climbing trees. Bears are good swimmers and surprisingly fast runners. Although many people see Bears as threatening most are content to mind their own business and only use force when absolutely necessary. They are not man eaters as many people believe, and, in fact, get most of their nutrition from, fish, plants, berries, herbs insects, and yes, even honey.
The Bear is a reserved and powerful animal. They signify leadership, family values and lunar magic. They are a spiritual and medicine Totem providing insight and calm grace and words of truth to those who seek their spirit council.
Bears are said to possess Lunar magic and many myths and legends depict the Bears special relationship to the moon. They are devoted mothers, raising and protecting their young from danger, teaching them to forage for food and fish in streams and providing them with all that they need until they are able to care for themselves properly. Mother Bears will fiercely protect her offspring from any harm or threat of harm.
Bears come in different colors and types, but most of them display similar spiritual and physiological characteristics. There are Asiatic Black Bears, American Black Bears, and the Magnificent Brown Bear which can be found throughout Asia, Europe, America and Canada. There is also the enormous Polar Bear, which can be found in colder regions of the world.
Bears are honored and respected by spiritualists the world over. Bears are known to impart pure and right wisdom and nothing profane will ever come from the noble Bear. Therefore they are trusted advisors in the spiritual world. The Bear possesses many animal virtues that are powerful and valuable and which any person would be wise to emulate or divine. One who has the power of the Bear will see enhanced leadership abilities, wisdom and fearlessness in defense; a better sense of self control allowing one the ability to use will-power to not speak when angered. Balance, harmony and strength are also all part of this noble totem’s magic.
The Magnificent Bear Totem possesses the following virtues: Right words and advise, clam reflective-ness, leadership abilities, courage to do what is right, medicine magic, shamanistic abilities, strong family values, devotion, reserved power, fearlessness in defense, and introspection.

Mountain Lion Animal Totem
Cougar has been known by many names: puma, mountain lion, catamount, screamer, panther and more. Cougar is its South American name, and the name Puma comes from the Quechua language of the Incas. Early colonists mistook the cougar for a female lion. The Native Americans jokingly told them all the male lions lived high up in the mountains, and thus came the name Mountain Lion.
The traditional Cherokee belief system holds the number Seven to represent the height of purity and sacredness—the highest and most difficult level of spirituality to attain. It was believed that only Cougar and Owl attained this level (as well as the spruce, pine, cedar, holly and laurel). These two creatures are honored in some versions of the Creation story; they were the only two able to stay awake for the seven nights of Creation. The Creator blessed them both with night vision, and keen eyesight and hearing.
Both creatures also possess characteristics somewhat like humans. The eyes of Owl are large and set directly in front like a person; and can close one independent of the other. Owl also resembles an old man as it walks. Owl is sometimes mistaken for a cat with its feather tufts and silhouette of its head resembling his nocturnal feline brother. The scream of Cougar resembles that of a woman.
It is the second-largest cat in the northern hemisphere, and also one of the fastest and most powerful animals; however it tires quickly. Cougar can leap up to forty feet, and as high as 20 feet. It is a stealthy hunter-predator. When it shows up as a totem it may be time to learn about owning your own power—albeit by trial and error. This testing is what hones your skills and strengthens your inner power. Cougar is a solitary animal, and you may feel alone when going through these tests to prepare you for your ascent to the higher realms of knowledge and spirituality.
When Cougar appears, much of the trial is usually already worked through—the ground work has already been laid out; now it’s time to ascend, to assert your own power and demonstrate what you have learned from the test or trial period. Cougars may be associated with trees, as they climb to higher ground. Trees are naturally archetypal images of knowledge and growth. Cougar scales the heights to higher knowledge and security when other animals cannot. It is grounded in the Earth, but can easily scale into the loftier realms. Wolf may often precede Cougar, guiding and teaching you along the way until you have found your path. He may then hand you over to Cougar so you can now “climb” to a higher position or state.
This would be the time to break out of your shell or the “category” that you might be stuck in, or that others may try to keep caged into. It is your choice to remain as such, or to flex your muscles and reveal your newly found courage, strength and capabilities. There is a choice to be made; but Cougar leaps at any opportunities quickly and with strength. Cougar teaches to be swift and decisive about using personal power; to not hesitate either to defend or to attack—with equal effectiveness.
Those with Cougar Medicine can easily fall under attack, especially by those who are comfortable with the status quo and/or do not wish to see you grow and evolve. There will always be someone in your territory that does not wish to see you come into your own power.
Deer is Cougar’s favorite prey. As deer embodies gentleness, Cougar Medicine reminds that power can be asserted gently. There are times to forcefully affirm your power; however, there are also times when you must be strong enough to be gentle. Cougar teaches this balance of power and mildness; and how to take charge of your life by claiming and owning your own personal power.
The Guardian Partner of Cougar is Bear—another powerful predator. Bear and Cougar do not work together, but tend to tolerate each other as one hunts in day and the other hunts at night. In this way they tend to keep balance, and to stay out of each other’s way. While either owns great personal power, sometimes being tolerant and just walking away demonstrates true strength.

Eagle Animal Totem
How to Apply Eagle's Teachings to Your Life
People with eagle medicine need their alone time. This gives them the opportunity to confront their fears and be honest with themselves. Eagle may be showing himself to you to remind you of the necessary time you need in solitude before you are able to take flight.
Because of your great beauty and grace people may see you as a threat. Don't let others intimidation's hold you back from flying like an eagle.
With your great vision you may also be looked upon as a mentor by others whether you actively seek this roll in a traditional sense or not be aware that others look up to you. You have great wisdom to share.
Opportunities are coming to you that will enable you to reach new heights. Be aware they are coming and have the courage to grab them.
Do you feel free to say what you want to say or do what you want to do or are you acting the way you feel others want you to? Release yourself from what others think and do what you need to for your growth and development.
Do you feel like you will never find a partner who understands or respects you or have you met somebody who seems unwilling to commit. Be aware that those with eagle medicine choose mates carefully but when they do its for life. If you give your best and value yourself expecting the best for yourself you will attract a mate who feels the same.
Eagle is a reminder of our connection to spirit. Have you forgotten yours? Spend some time in meditation and nature reconnecting to source.

Animal Totems Wolf
Wolves are the epitome of stamina, known to run 35 miles a day in pursuit of prey. They are highly misunderstood animals, who have gained the reputation of being cold blooded. In reality wolves are friendly and social creatures. Aggression is something they avoid, preferring rather to growl or create a posture to show dominance.
Even though living in close knit packs provide wolves with a strong sense of family, they are still able to maintain their individuality. Wolves represent the spirit of freedom, but they realize that having individual freedom requires having responsibilities.
Because wolf is a teacher and pathfinder, he comes when we need guidance in our lives. Those who have a Wolf Totem will move on to teach others about sacredness and spirituality. Wolf can also teach how to balance the responsibility of family needs and not to lose one's personal identity.
Wolf teaches us to develop strength and confidence in our decisions. He shows we will learn to trust our insights once we learn how to value our inner voice. This wisdom keeps us from inappropriate action. If wolf appears in your life examine where you need to develop more confidence and if you need more balance between friends, family, and yourself.

Surrender & Release
If we could see the miracle in letting go our whole life would change. Let go, allow God and the angels to help you.
When we willingly release and begin the process of healing from the unhappy situation, we may find we gain the necessary clarity that was not apparent to us before. In having gained clarity individuals often regain their own self determination and strength.
The angels ask you to try not to control the outcome of your troubling situation. It can take a lot of courage to let go and trust in the decision to do so but It may also be one of the most valuable decisions we can ever make. Let go, and let God help you!

Pau D' Arco
Benefits
Pau d'Arco bark has active principles, mainly lapachol, quercetin and other flavonoids. The dried inner bark of Pau d'Arco can be used as a tea which has a taste that is just a little bit harsh, and a color that may remind you of sepia-toned photographs. This herbal tea is used by many during the cold and flu season, and is a remedy for smoker's cough. Another medicinal use of Pau d'Arco is as an expectorant: to promote "coughing up" by the lungs in order to free mucus and contaminants that had been lodged there.
Pau d'Arco tea or tincture concoctions have reportedly had beneficial effects for cancer patients, anywhere from alleviation of chemotherapy symptoms to complete remission of tumors. According to Dr. Daniel Mowrey, who has become somewhat famous in the area of Pau d'Arco supporters, anti-cancer benefits can be had from Lapacho (the active compound), without any side effects being noticed. Taheebo, another name that is used for this tea, has been helpful to many.
Candida Albicans, a fungus which causes yeast infections, has also been treated by the Pau d'Arco herb. Aside from patients dealing with candida problems, those with other issues involving fungi or yeasts -- such as Aspergillus -- may also be helped due to the antifungal nature of lapachol. Moreover, certain bacteria are affected by this compound, so help may also be available for people with issues of that nature, including: Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus, Helicobacter pylori (common cause of stomach ulcers), Brucella, tuberculosis, pneumonia, and dysentery.
Side Effects
Surgery:
Pau d'Arco might increase the risk of bleeding during as well as after a surgical procedure, and may decrease blood clotting speed. Due to this, do not use this herb for a minimum period of two weeks prior to having surgery. Talk with a doctor for more information, and tell him if you have been taking Pau d'Arco at all, even if it was prior to the two-week period before the scheduled procedure. Additionally, ask him for details about when you can resume taking it after the surgery, if you intend to do so.
Pre-existing conditions:
Pau d'Arco has the potential to raise the risk of bleeding in people who have bleeding disorders. An example of such a condition is hemophilia. If such a condition affects you, talk with your doctor before you begin using Pau d'Arco.
Blood-thinning:
Pau d'Arco, when a person uses it internally, has the potential to strengthen the blood-thinning effects that are seen in certain medications known as anticoagulants. This may lead to significantly high levels of bleeding, as well as other medical issues. Contact a medical professional prior to using this herb and such a medication at the same or nearby time periods. Aspirin, enoxaparin, warfarin, and dalteparin are four such examples, but do not take them as being the only possibilities.

Marshmallow Root Herb
